Facing the Uncomfortable with Bob: A 2-Minute Grit Check – Featuring Greg Libbrecht

Heya, Bob here!

Today, I want to share the story of Greg Libbrecht—a friend, entrepreneur, and triathlete who knows what it means to push through discomfort and come out stronger.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from years of training and working with Greg, it’s that growth often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

When you get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Greg and I have trained together for years, logging miles on the bike, runs, and swims.

His discipline in fitness mirrors the grit he’s applied to business, and it’s paid off.

But Greg’s journey wasn’t always smooth.

After starting his healthcare career and moving to the private sector, Greg realized he wasn’t fulfilled.

Corporate life wasn’t for him—he wanted something more challenging and meaningful, a decision many of us face when we decide to push beyond comfort.

That’s when Greg boldly decided to go out on his own.

He and a partner bought an enormous 177,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and turned it into a storage and office business.

Sounds smooth, right? Well, not quite.

It was a huge risk, and for four tough years, Greg worked around the clock to keep things afloat, juggling multiple ventures and borrowing to stay in business.

Through it all, Greg never wavered.

He knew that discomfort was part of the process, and his entrepreneurial spirit pushed him forward.

Greg’s perseverance turned the venture into a profitable one.

Ten years later, he sold his shares and moved to Platinum Business Services.

Where he uses what he learned to make other businesses profitable and sustainable.

Now, at 60, Greg is still thriving—both in business and in health—proving that balance and perseverance can take you far.

What has Greg’s story taught me? TAKE THE LEAP!

Sometimes, the most uncomfortable moments, like leaving a secure job, lead to the most rewarding outcomes.

So, What Can We Learn from Greg’s Journey?

  1. Embrace the Tough Moments:

Growth happens when you face challenges head-on, just like Greg did.

  1. Persevere Through Setbacks:

The road isn’t always easy. Setbacks are part of the journey. Use them to learn and grow.

How Can You Make This Work for You?

  1. Take Smart Risks:

Don’t be afraid to leap into the unknown—just plan wisely and approach challenges with a growth mindset.

  1. Keep Moving Forward:

Persistence is key. Stay focused, and surround yourself with support systems that help you thrive.

Greg’s story shows us that real success comes from being comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Take risks, stay resilient, and push forward!

Cheers,

Bob
