Hey, Bob here!
This week, I had the privilege of speaking with Penny Alalouf,
a single mom and coach whose story epitomizes the essence
of getting comfortable being uncomfortable.
Her journey from financial devastation to self-discovery and empowerment
is nothing short of remarkable.
From Comfort to Chaos
Penny’s life once looked like a dream—
married with four kids and thriving in her career as a graphic designer.
But when the 2008 financial crisis hit, everything crumbled.
She went through a divorce,
found herself as a stay-at-home mom with no income,
and had to figure out how to support her family.
Imagine this:
you’ve lost everything—
your house, your financial stability, and the life you once knew.
With no safety net, Penny not only had to rebuild her life
but also fight legal battles as her own lawyer while raising four kids solo.
Finding Purpose Amidst the Chaos
After spending nearly a decade in recruitment,
Penny realized the work wasn’t aligned with her purpose.
Even after having her best financial year, she experienced crippling anxiety.
“My body was telling me I wasn’t on the right path,” she said.
So, at 54, she made a brave decision:
she left recruitment to pursue her calling.
She dove into coaching and healing,
learning modalities like hypnosis
and neurolinguistic programming to not only help herself
but also others find their way.
Lessons from Penny’s Journey
1. Survival Starts with Self-Care:
Penny’s story reminds us to focus on our mindset, health,
and energy during tough times.
When you take care of yourself, you can take care of others.
2. Persistence Pays Off:
From becoming her own lawyer to rebuilding her career,
Penny showed that perseverance is key when the odds are stacked against you.
3. Courage Over Confidence:
Penny didn’t always feel confident, but she chose courage and showed up,
no matter how uncertain the outcome.
Why Penny’s Story Matters
Her journey is a powerful reminder
that even when you’re at rock bottom,
you can rise again.
Success isn’t about having all the answers—
it’s about taking one brave step at a time.

Bob
